The DURHAM HEN HOUSE is a practical, easy to use hen house that will keep your hens safe and secure - and it will last for years! It comes with a 5 year warranty and if you’re not happy with it for any reason you can return it within 30 days for a full refund.

The DURHAM HEN HOUSE has been designed in a traditional style with an apex roof that opens to give excellent access for collecting eggs and cleaning. This innovative roof design allows for good ventilation which will keep your hens healthy. The two natural wood perches and novel nest box are removable. One nest box is suitable for up to 8 laying hens (Defra guidelines). Two stands are provided to raise the feeder and drinker above the height of the bedding. There is a hinged threshold on the pop hole to prevent bedding from spilling out; it can be lifted for cleaning purposes. The house has carrying handles and can be moved by two people. The solid floor is raised off the ground to keep the house warmer in winter.
The solid floor, heavy-duty construction, chew-resistant material and 'hasp and staple' catch combine to make this the most predator-proof hen house available.
The generously proportioned run is fully detachable and has a pop hole in the end panel. The 3mm galvanised wire mesh run follows the apex design of the house, making it very difficult for dogs, foxes etc to stand on it. The run measures 1150 x 2740mm (4' x 9') but the length can be adjusted to your requirements. If you would like a different size, please contact us before ordering. We will send a free waterproof cover for the run to provide shade in summer and shelter from rain and snow.
The DURHAM HEN HOUSE is manufactured from extremely tough, 7mm thick, recycled plastic. As well as being eco-friendly, it is durable, robust, resilient and chew-resistant. It is an easy care material that does not need weather treatment, unlike timber houses. Plastic housing is unlikely to attract red mite because there are few crevices where they can hide. The hygienic material easily withstands thorough cleaning such as jet washing and it dries very quickly as it is non-absorbent. The DURHAM HEN HOUSE is suitable for up to 12 hens according to current guidelines, used by most hen house manufacturers (1 square foot per hen). We recommend it for up to 8 standard-sized hens as hens are much happier in a spacious environment.
