Hens:
Can't praise this company enough, from ordering to 'Cluck & Collect' first class, slick procedure. Thank You for our speckled & blue haze's who are settling in nicely though our older 2 hens have squawked since they arrived! Just bedded the four of them down for the night and all is now calm! x J.R.
I got some hens this afternoon and they are the most cuddly chickens ever! They are well behaved (apart from bedtime :D) and extremely loving. 10/10, definitely buying more.

Came to your place and got 3 chickens, great place and lots of choice and help too !!! chickens have settled in and now have run of the garden, kid's think they are great, our 6 year old asked if we are now going to get extra eggs at Easter from our chickens, plans for a bigger coop see you soon. I have been in today and purchased the dozen gingernut rangers I was after. They are the best quality hens that I have ever bought and will use Durham Hens again in the future. Nice people, happy hens. We bought six a year ago and they are all well and thriving. Would definitely recommend this seller. It's also good that their hens are vaccinated. Will be going back in the New Year to extend the flock! Fiona

My little Coral Nick is now laying beautifully formed little cream eggs. She has laid every day for the last 3 days bless her. They have all settled in so well and are beautiful. Just waiting for the others to get the hint now lol and we will be well away. I think I may be convincing my better half to extend the run as well so it may not be too long before I am visiting again for a few more ladies lol....its certainly addictive this chicken keeping malarky. Hi, We came with our son on Tuesday and bought 3 hens from you, a Blue Haze, a Leghorn and a Black Rock, Just thought we'd let you know that they are doing fine and have settled in perfectly. We'll be back soon for another 3 to join our flock! M.I.

Nuggets the Columbian Blacktail is laying now! Snowball the Coral Nick rarely misses a day and Bella the Rhode Rock gives us loads of double yolkers! Love them, every trip up the garden is wonderful, they always make me smile. So nosey, and funny! xx K.T.
My husband and myself arrived at about 3.15 this afternoon expecting you to be closed. We were so please you were open and received a great tour of the chickens. You gave us so much information and I even got to stroke chicken for the first time. We are new to this but i am already hooked. S.S.

Just wanted to say.. We purchased 3 lovely girls in July. As first time owners,They've settled in wonderfully. We are getting plenty of eggs and i cant imagine our garden without them. They are so happy and healthy and i would definitely recommend any one considering purchasing hens, to go to Durham hens. Such gorgeous friendly little things ! A.W.
At the end of August last year, 2017, I purchased 18 Blacktail hens.The quality of these hens was excellent, they started to lay almost straight away, and continued to lay even through the worst of the winter. Would recommend Durham Hens to anyone..Thank you..Paul Stewart.
We made the journey to Tow Law a little over 2 weeks ago. It was well worth the drive. We have two excellent young hens who have settled in calmly and happily and now rub along very well with their two senior companions. It was great to see how you keep your POL hens. Over the years we have been to several suppliers. None has impressed us as much as Durham Hens. J.L.
Chicks:
The Welsummer chicks we got on Saturday are doing very well and are gorgeous - thank you so much. J.T-C.

Eggs:
Just wanted to say a massive thank you! I’m a first time grandma of 6 beautiful chicks, my broody hen has done an amazing job and 6/6 hatched! It’s sometimes the small things in life that make a big difference and watching those chicks hatch is something I will not forget. Thank you for an outstanding service :-) L.M.
I just wanted to say that I am delighted with my Cream Legbars - I bought fertile eggs from you in the Summer. My cockerel is beautiful - I called him Digby ! He is barred grey and cream and has bright chestnut on his back - he is just starting to say "hello world" but does not quite know the words yet - or the tune - he sounds more like a dog barking !!! They are very friendly and give lovely cuddles - especially Digby. When I am mucking out I usually find 2 on my shoulders pecking at my ears. As I breed - I love them - thank you all very much. M.D.
Great service, about 4 months ago bought 24 hatching eggs and 21/24 hatched perfectly and are now maturing well! Also have had many hens from them in the past. N.W.
Fantastic service as usual, this is my 3rd year of buying hatching eggs and I can't fault the guys at Durham Hens. I am eagerly awaiting some Porcelain Sablepoots and Blacktails and have every confidence that they will be delivered safely as usual. I have also purchased lots of feed, grit and other items over the years which I have always been happy with. I will continue to use Durham Hens hopefully for many years to come. S.D.
Many many thanks for the hatching eggs we collected from you a few weeks ago. On day 21 all 7 hatched under a very clucky broody hen and have thrived since. We have 4 aracaunas, 2 welsummers (I think at least 1 female) and a barnevelder. S.M.
Durham Hen House:
Just thought I'd send some thanks - albeit I think its around 6 years since we bought a hen house from you! We are up in the far north west of Scotland - had a battering from storm Caroline yesterday (90mph winds), and now a northerly blizzard, you might have seen it on the news. I've just been out battling the elements stocking up fuel for the stoves and of course, seeing to the hens. I suppose I've rather come to take it for granted that they will be fine, we've had plenty of weather over the past few years. Sure enough, in a blizzard, their house is snug and dry, draught-proof and cosy. I don't suppose we know if they are happy, but they certainly are safe and well, thanks to a very good buy from Durham Hens.... H.D.
My chickens are really loving their new Durham Hen House and so am I! L.N.
Poultry Supplies:
Just to say a big thank you for your prompt postage and advice when I purchased 'respite' before my holiday in August. It certainly was a good tonic for my chicken's cold symptoms ! M.H.

I just thought I'd drop you a line to say thanks for the advice you gave me regarding a Columbian Black Tail that was suffering from some intestinal infection causing diarrhoea. Your recommendation of using Herb 'n' Thrive seems to have done the trick and the chicken has returned to her normal self within a couple of weeks. S.W.
I highly recommended Staff very helpful, the hens look healthy and well looked after. Good stock of things that you need in keeping hens. G.F.
Courses:
I just wanted to thank you very much for today's course. It was wonderful. There was so much to take in but the information was presented in such a clear calm way that I think I've absorbed the majority of it. And I just loved the hens (and cockerels) it was great to be able to see so many varieties....Thanks again it was a fabulous morning. A.W.
The course leader was fantastic and very knowledgable about chickens. Content was comprehensive with plenty of opportunity to ask questions. Would definitely recommend to anyone interested in keeping chickens. I'm really pleased I did the course and I think it was brilliant. Hollie
My father and I would like to say a huge thank you to all at Durham Hens, The Sunday morning spent although weather was shocking was a real help and very informative. Dad's hens have settled very well and look stunning full of health, eating and drinking well. They have adapted to their new home very quickly and he his awaiting the first eggs to arrive. My silkies finally came out of the pop hole yesterday, again eating and drinking well. My wife loves them, a huge relief. Please could you post this on your site as we both highly recommend your hens along with your ability and confidence in the world of poultry keeping. John & Ian Young.
Wow! What a fantastic experience this course was. The course leader is obviously very passionate about keeping hens, and the course was very informative. The atmosphere was friendly and informal. Although this was a short course, I feel confident about starting to keep hens. Tim

Hen Holidays:
Thank you guys for looking after my chooks. They still wont speak to me but look as good as when I dropped them off for a Hen Holiday so I know they have had a great time. I cannot recommend the Hen Holiday service enough. It is an absolutely brilliant idea and it's so reassuring knowing that your hens are in such good hands. I cannot fault the service you provide it's always exceptional. Its what keeps me coming back time and time again. Many, many thanks. J.B.
